What is a air balancer?
Air Balancers are used in applications where a "float" condition is beneficial. Float allows for the hands-free final positioning of an object. The up / down speed of a air balancer is quicker when compared to a hoist and allows for a "feathering" operation when locating the load. The pendant controls are ergonomically designed incorporating color coded thumb levers.

Diversity of product lines in cable or chain configurations.
Knight offers the use of chain instead of cable. Chain is more durable when balancing weights in excess of 250 lbs [113.4 kg] and / or high cycle times are encountered. The use of cable under these conditions has a greater tendency to fray or "birdcage" requiring a more specific PM program.
Certain applications may require the need to balance a large or unwieldy part that would be better served with a dual suspension point. The Dual Drum Series fulfills this requirement.

Diverse Control Options
Knight pendant controls are designed for precision handling of variable weight loads and allow the operator to adjust the handle for an ergonomically comfortable position. Up/down movement is achieved through the use of customer specified color coded thumb levers or by movement of the control handle (feather touch). Available in straight or coiled hose and comes in standard lengths of 10ft [3m].
Optional high relieving and feathertouch controls help to exhaust air quicker on heavier loads and provide a way to operate the tool without a pendant.

Knight Air Balancers Internal and External Retract Controls

Internal and External Retract Controls
Knight incorporates a standard internal centrifugal brake to insure that any runaway load comes to an immediate complete halt. Optional external retract control imparts a controlled condition to the spooling of the cable. By adjusting the pressure of the shock, the spool will only be allowed to move in a chosen maximum speed. This option works well with heavy parts and light end effectors once the heavy part is off loaded, the light end effector does not move at an accelerated rate of speed.
